Fairfax High basketball standout Evan Burns signed a letter of intent with UCLA on Wednesday, though some question remains as to whether Burns will attend the school.
A school spokesman declined to say whether Burns had qualified academically. Also, Burns, who could not be reached for comment, is considering bypassing college and heading straight to the NBA. The deadline for entering the NBA draft is May 12.
Burns, a 6-foot-7 small forward who orally committed to UCLA in September after also considering San Diego State, averaged 22.7 points and 10.5 rebounds for Fairfax. He was chosen to play in the prestigious McDonald's high school All-American game recently in New York.
